Ether Steeds

NEW YORK THEATER

“ETHER STEEDS”
A play directed by Niegel Smith
Set against the back drop of coastal North Carolina – cheap beer, anonymous gentlemen and the ashes of the dearly departed spur Mamma and her Venus Flytrap obsessed daughter, Skeeta, toward the inevitable. Ether Steeds is a ritualistic examination of the chasms between a mother, a daughter and the sea. Mixing realistic staging with more fantastical moments Skeeta creates a landscape of memory where her dreams and fears push her toward the union she desires.  For more info and ticket information, visit the website: http://www.ethersteeds.com/

If you were trapped in a house where you could speak only in
questions, how long would you survive? In a race against time, God,
and declarative statements, the intrepid employees of The Question
House are ready to find out…or are they? A winner of the Eleanor Frost
Playwriting Award at Dartmouth College, The Question House is a
one-act comedy in which everyone must speak only in questions or be
struck down by a mysterious force.

The New York Times just reviewed Blue Coyote’s newest production raving that “The silly and the serious sit side by side” revealing “a sensibility that is one part literary, two parts comic book.”

Kyle Ancowitz ’98 directed two of the plays and Carter Jackson ’98 appears as the Bolshevik Horde – a character who describes himself in an aside as “grimy and filthy,” with “a cockney accent for no apparent reason.”

Only twelve performances remaining!

Shrek the Musical is offering special discounts for Dartmouth alums. Hurry, because this one’s running out in a few weeks. Click on the image to see the details and remember to wear your school color. I think in this case, it’ll be appropriate.
